Come on, Gabe, just a little kiss. No? Damn.
Oh, joy, I feel a headache coming on. I’ll try my best to ignore it, and get this entry done. So, yesterday, the parental units were out at BG so I sat down with a couple of movies. My first (and ultimately unfortunate) choice was a horror movie called “Yellow Brick Road.” It had Cassidy Freeman in it so I thought I would give it a chance. An hour later, I walked off while it was still playing, and started making dinner, uncaring if I missed something or not. The premise is a bit like “Blair Witch Project,” a group of people gather to trace the footsteps of a town that walked off into the woods, and was never seen again. Promising, right? The only thing remotely scary about the movie was the fact it was ever made. The (evil?) force that (maybe?) caused the townspeople to disappear into the woods was some type of music that emanated somewhere in the wilderness.

So, this mix of curious people start hearing it, and then (of course) everything takes a turn for the worse. A brother and sister start fighting over a hat, and the brother goes crazy, bashing a rock into the sister’s head before ripping one of her legs off. Yeah, barehanded even (impossible though). From there, it just gets weirder as every other person in the group falls prey to the same madness that’s (maybe?) caused by the music in the woods. Ultimately, there’s only one person left, and he (presumably?) finds his way out of the woods into a movie theater that shows him what happened to everyone else in his party. The movie ends there.

Are you confused? I know I was. I threw the DVD onto the donate pile with force. What a fucking waste of film and talent. I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. The “Batman” animated feature I watched after that monstrosity of a movie was so much better. I wasn’t aware there were ever two Robins in the canon, but it sure made for an interesting story. Jensen Ackles was quite good as Red Hood, and I wish Neil Patrick Harris had had a bigger role (sorry, Nightwing, Batman’s too good for you apparently). TV wise, I’ve got one more episode of “Heroes” to watch. I’ll be a sad panda when I get to it later tonight. The bromance between Peter and Sylar made me super happy. Five years together would do wonders for any relationship. ^_^

I’ve got the two “Heroes” GNs to read so at least I know the characters’ stories will be continued there. Just too bad I won’t ever get to see them acted out. Over the past month, I’ve been regularly exercising to some of the workouts that are on demand. I stick mostly to martial arts (kickboxing), and Pilates (a slower way to work out, but goddamn you get sore afterwards). I’m down 6 pounds, and I can feel the difference in my body. I’m a lot looser in the waist, and my IBS has improved. Not to the point where it’s completely gone away, but it helps. That’s why I’ll keep the exercise up even in the summer. At this point, after reviewing the stock of workouts I have in my head, I’ve combined both Pilates and kickboxing moves into a ten minute session that works nicely. I can do it while watching TV too so I can get through my watch pile quicker too.

Anyway, my head is pounding at this point (too much staring at TVs and computers), so I’m off to watch on the puzzle and/or read. “Deadlocked” is good so far, but I’m only 45 pages into the book. I know it’ll get worse.
