    Sliding hell.
So, the last couple of months, I’ve been watching through “Sliders,” and currently I’m about 1/4 through the last season, which is definitely not on the great side. I swear, the “Sliders” universe is really damn bleak. Not only did they kill off the Professor, and basically turned Wade into a broodmare, but now Colin has been torn into pieces, and Quinn’s mind has been shoved into an alternate version of himself? Wow, that’s just sad. There’s only one original cast member left now, and Rembrandt has to deal with a whole bunch of crap. It’s not even really clear why he’s still sliding at this point. Is it to find and rescue Wade? Get a weapon that will drive the Kromaggs off Earth Prime? Spilt Mallory from Quinn? Find a way to re-stabilize Colin?

I mean, jesus, if I’d gone through all that, I would have just settled on a world I liked, and stopped sliding. What’s the point if you’re only doing it because that’s what you’re used to? Even if Rembrandt does find something to restore his world, it’s not going to be the same again. Not like he remembers. I’ll be glad when I finish the series up. It was great in the beginning, okay in the middle, but the ending…bleh. No wonder the original creators and producers of the series got out where they could. Case in point: I’ve been writing this journal entry while watching some of the aforementioned season, and I generally like to pay close attention to whatever I’m watching. That I can split my attention between this and the TV screen is telling.

Not too much has been going on lately. Mostly, I’ve been working through my movie pile, I picked up several ex-library copies of movies I wanted to see in theaters or just had a passing interest in. So, I caught up on all the Marvel superhero movies including “X: Men: First Class.” Wolverine’s cameo was definitely my favorite scene of the film. It probably doesn’t fit into the continuity of the first four X-Men films, but I laughed my ass off. The rest of the movie was pretty good, some of the romance angles were underdeveloped, but it told the origin stories of several X-Men characters quite well. I still prefer the older films though. :p

I also watched “Paul,” a movie that was brought down by Seth Rogen. He wasn’t there physically, but his voice and sense of humor was enough to dull some of my enjoyment of the admittedly funny and original story. I loved Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, they make a great team, so I was mainly watching them, and ignoring Rogen. Fucking guy dragged “The Green Hornet” down, and this movie is no exception. Why do people think he’s funny? I don’t get it. He comes off as such a jerk and douche bag. Ah well, I’m off to brush my teeth, and read a bit before bed. Errands need to be done later on in the afternoon, and I’ll need to have enough sleep under my belt to maintain a good mood throughout the day. ^^
