I love my english class....such irony.
I would like to share with anyone who reads this, what I put for a journal entry that was supposed to be tied to an analytical essay about one of three articles, the one I chose was one of language barriers and puerto ricans living in New Jersey, the one who is telling the story is an english teacher sharing of the barriers she faced. For my journal, I related it to South Park. AND GOT CREDIT! I really love this class! Here is what I put...

So far I’m not sure if I’m doing it right or not, so now I shall relate this to the episode of South Park of when Cartman was A.W.S.O.M.O. Cartman dressed up as a robot for Butters in the attempt to get dirt to exploit on Butters (poor kid, he’s like Kenny, except he doesn’t die) but then couldn’t escape the “box” and was stuck there trying to get the little bit of dirt Butters had on him. With Cartman trapped in the box he was isolated and was left to a barrier of language. He couldn’t profess what was really going on when he needed to or else he would give up his identity and Butters would exploit him. Cartman went through many tribulations only furthering due to this barrier of language. He finally gets to where he can communicate with people only to find that no one believes that he is in fact human, until the scientist gets shot and points out what makes him human, “Do these make me human (grabs intestine)? What about this (grabs stomach), or this (grabs lung)” right before he died. They all realize that when the barriers are realized, that mistakes can be fixed, and information can be spread to those who need it, which led Butters to showing all the kids Cartman dancing as Brittany Spears and necking with a cardboard Justin Timberlake.

    good times, good times.
