Midget Monkey
With age comes experience, and this two month old monkey has some new powers to counteract our tricks of getting her to sleep:
- Monkey power of cheerio mouth-- combats vacuum
- Monkey power of sticking tongue out repeatedly-- combats swing
- Monkey power of extreme bicep strength-- combats swaddling
I was talking to my hairdresser yesterday  who is pregnant with twins and remembering all the fears of pregnancy. How funny it is now that these fears are multiplied once the baby is born, and increasingly insane. It started with worrying about SIDS every time Elena was asleep. Now I have irrational fears such as worrying that I will accidentally throw her over the balcony (thanks to Ammon for this one) and that she is a midget (little people start off as regular sized babies, right?? Strangers, in addition to saying how beautiful and/or adorable she is, keep telling me she is tiny for her age).
Ammon is back at work this week and I have been his chauffer, so it's been a pretty exciting week for Elena. We have today off because Miriam is visiting from Ohio and drove Ammon to York this morning. We started our Christmas shopping on Wed. and although Elena was really good at the Bon Ton, the stupid store is so not stroller friendly (although not as bad as Shippensburg University on Tuesday where you can't use the elevators if you don't have a key and the doors don't have wheelchair access buttons and the students are too rude to hold the door for you-- I think I'm going to right a threating-ish letter to their disabilities office because I don't consider that equal access). So it was basically a bust that day but I will not give up! I will lead a normal life even with infant! That's all for now seeing as monkey powers are reviving Elena from her deep sleep on my shoulder. Stay tuned for a Race update...
