Phew! Okay back! I have been able to run away to the Internet cafe! I am happy at how close-ish it is! It's a pleasant walk even if I do greatly dislike having to cross the street since I feel like an arse not knowing which direction to look -.-* It's a wonder I've not been mowed down by a car already.
And this is random but Des may appreciate this (if she is reading this long rambling mod-ling travels journal) but my uncle (back when I was in Manchester) was listening to an Abba CD and I swear to god one of the lyrics sounded like they were singing "Marmaduke" and I kept thinking of you and your sister LOL. I t'was much amuse-ed and ... omg they were playing Madonna's "Like a Virgin"... Least I don't have the Moulin Rouge visuals to accompany it... lol funny/traumatizing as it may be...
Right so I've already started this off by bouncing about... I have to say I've been inspired by the most random things this week... If it's not reading children's books that seem like very much more than children's books while in Oxford (taking a train from Manchester to Oxford was a pain let me tell you--especially since they said our train would be direct but then a stop away from the stop we needed to get on they told us we'd have to change trains... not fun with big heavy bags full of heavy hard back books). Right... so Oxford is where my Godmother lives and she has a 7 year old son (I am surrounded by children this trip it seems... I soooooooo don't know how to talk to children so I've just opted to speak to them normally... though I think my American accent throws them off on occasion or maybe it's the way I phrase things or the word differences or... hmm lol maybe it's just me). Anywho she lives in a gorgous old cottage with doorways that I have to stoop through to save from smacking my head on the door frame but I had a lovely time there--though tiring. While my mom and godmother were chatting up a storm (they are old model friends) and I was occasionally talking with her husband Nick or interjecting into the conversation in general but I saw Alec (the little boy) sort of looking bored as he clambered up and down his playset... so I felt bad and started playing soccer (or football as they call it here) with him ... and man he ran me ragged, and he had me play goalie at one point which I never liked doing back when I was 12 and luckily he hasn't learned how to get the ball up in the air so I got away with blocking with my legs... oh but then when we took a breather because it was ridiculously hot he got out his blue plastic tennis rackets and had me playing tennis! LOL man by the time we finished that his face was bright red and I stole away upstairs to the spare bedroom where i was sleeping and lay down for a bit... Children have too much energy. LOL. I am out of shape... It is not a good combination. Anyway they've always had dogs and cats but finally all their old dogs and cats have passed away... but they got a new dog. A poodle. But oh my god... I thought I hated poodle's but Oscar Wilde (that was the dog's name--they didn't give it to him but he already had it) is the cutest thing ever. He's like a big cat but oddly light and it's very strange to have a little black dog with 80's hair sitting on your lap. LOL He's such a sweetheart and I want one! Though it's a poodle! He's so soft too... lol. Oh and he was chasing the poor hedgehog in their garden at night and he scratched his nose on the spines the daft bat. Silly puppy.
