reunion favorites "the guy that's in the lead" gina referring to one of the guys that she is dating "she looks pretty good" jennifer's husband referring to the heavy set old woman carrying a tray of food. we were all starving. "you got a lil fine on ya" bobby referring to me "i'd date you now" bobby to gina. he said it as though it were a compliment. nobody wants his ghetto ass. "where are the fun people?" dawnita "the girls are still pretty and the guys got fat" jennifer she said that repeatedly through out the weekend" matt lewis, i think matt was my favorite person. not only did he lose weight he gained a personality. he was so funny. he got the award for most changed. *** my high school reunion FRIDAY: the h.s. rotunda- arrived in town shortly before 6pm so i decided to drive around town. drove past the jr. high. i get to the high school. everyone is standing arounding talking. Except for hair styles everyone looked exactly the same. well the girl were still anyway, they were still pretty, but the guys got fatter. Harold, Bobby, Rashaan showed up. harold picked me up when he hugged me. :) Bobby informed me as he checkes out my ass "you got a lil fine on you girl" I talked to Shonna she asks "is brock here" i looked at her like she was nuts "no, why would my brother here" well it turns out brock told her that he would be in town. I talked to Gina & asked her why she snubbed DB and I last month in FW. She thought we had snubbed her and told BJ. Well we got that straigtened out. Everyone asked me for Debra. 10 yrs have past and they just assumed i would know, which of course i did. I got to see Gina's parents and meet her lil girl. Toby's- Almost everyone went to Toby's. we took over the back room of that place. It was crazy then other people from burk started showing up. It was so much fun. I think outsiders were afraid to come in. they'd stand at the doorway look in, then walked away. That room was all about BHS. It was fun, I guess get a lil alcohol in people and they are much cooler. IHOP- Harold, Bobby, Rashaan, Tomika, Yolanda, Debra, Brock, Jo and brocks friend Jason went to IHOP. Harold talked then entire time we were there. He is so ghetto. ya gotta love him. since we had gone to elem. together and we were all base kids we talked about way back when. We all laughed about my mom. i think she really wanted to be there w/ us. she called harold, debra, me twice and then she called again aroun 2:15am when we were all at ihop "what are you guys doin?" Debra's Mom's house- since db's ma is in the NH, they have an old friend of AD's staying there taking care of the house. all debra told me was that his name was dwayne. around 4am we arrive, woke the guy up. the 3 of us are standing in the dark Liv rm talking. We didnt know each other. he was our senior so of course we didnt know each other. he said something and i said "whats your last name?" when he told me i started laughing. "oh my god i remember you" he flipped the light on, looks at me, points "cafeteria" we both start w/ "i remember you" debra looks at us "do ya'll need to go make out" it was funny, you had to be there we stayed up until it was time for dwayne to go to work SATURDAY: pic nic- well the pic nic was from 11-1 and you'd have to ask someone that went how it went. we woke about a qtr to 11 and decided it was too damn hot. we sat around thne got dressed. Dwayne got home about 12:30 so we 3 went and ate lunch. we were following him. we were stopped at a light, and debra said something funny and i almost choked on my water. dwayne saw us in his rearview mirror, he turned around and laughed. when we got to there he asked if i was alright. Mall- DB and i go to the mall to find something for her to wear. i thought that was funny. she came in from DFW, but shops in WF. what made it even funnier was that we ran to a few folks from school shopping for something to wear. Ms. Beaseley- oh my god i wanted to cry when i saw her. it was her b-day. deb got her a burger, fries and a milkshake from whataburger. she shaked real bad, she cant bend her knees and only has use of one of her hands. Harrison house- for $30 you'd think we'd have some food. i knew we wouldnt. thats where we had dad retirement. they had finger foods but no meal. some people showed up in jeans, some were dressed up. i liked it though everyone was comfortable. the one thing that everyone i think everyone talke dabout was how snooty Atchley and doty were. even people taht were friends w/ them in hs were making comments. Grahams- yes we went to grahams. it was fun though. again once people got tipsy they became fun. the thing i like dthe most is that people were not sticking to their old clicks. they were hanging out w/ people they would have back then. well for the most part there those few. Dawnita made laugh. "i was over there w/ those people and was bored, my god they are boring, i saw stacy and said where are the fun people?" so dawnita left that group and came over and joined us. one of the guys from our happend to walk by and debra grabbed. he had no idea about the reunion. in fact he was on our list of missing persons. so he joined us. John Martin told me that i had "upgraded since high school" that was funny for 2 reasons, one i dont remember at all (yet he remembered me), and everyone told me i looked "exactly the same" Gina and i got ghetto, we danced in the cage. they didnt think we'd do it. and no, we werent drunk. toby's- grahams was too hot and too crowed. so we left and hung out at toby's, again we took over the back room. ran into the photographer from my wedding. debra says "we were just talking about you. melissa was telling us how you were flirting w/ her at her wedding" he laughed and said "yeah, i was" he told me that he uses my wedding pics in his portfolio. i was gorgeous :) ihop- about 20 of us went to ihop. sat around telling stories. it was cool because it was a group that never would have partied together back then. i was informed that i hadnt changed a bit. i still say whatever is on my mind even if it makes others uncomfortable. SUNDAY: debra left to go see her mom before she went out of town. i hadnt finished packing so i stayed. Dwayne was out fishing. he gets home about 2pm. i was still there. shit i was tired. we sat and talked for a bit. when i was leaving he said "dont go" i laughed "the house is going to seem quiet huh" i drove to irving. kelly and i sat out by her pool and i told her all the stories Post a comment in response: |
