I'm catching on to this alchemy thing faster than I thought I would. I took a few books with me to the field to do a little hands-on learning (no pun intended.. hehe), and I think I understand a little more about healing now, thanks to a book and some input from a guy I met named Yossun. Then I tried a little bio-alchemy, and although I didn't technically bring anything back to life, I was able to combine some dead organic matter with water to form strong, movable vines. That'll be useful in a fight if I can get good at it, although more for Kura than for me. I'm not exactly a close-range fighter.
I also met another student named Shinyo. He had some interesting comments about alchemy. He kinda reminded me of Hughes-san, although much more serious. Hughes never seemed to show much interest in alchemy. So as soon as I dig that gadget he gave me out of my luggage, I think I'm going to go to Shinyo's class to learn a little more about good ol' melee battling.
