Colours? dark, like black or gray.. w/e looks good with the background

Other? in the sky of the picture have it say "I am a butterfly/ But you wouldn't let me die" then in the sand say " 'It's me and the moon' she said" done in sweeping cursive letters. color doesn;t matter, as long as it matches the background (maybe a pink or blue?)
i like how this layout (http://www.blurty.com/users/sparkleinmyeye/) has the pic on the left, and all the text boxes on the right. but can it be done so the picture doesn;t get covered up when I scroll?
