    Current music:Mucc, "Ryuusei"

    I remember, I remember...
...those New Year's parties we used to have, in highschool--was it 2001? 2002, maybe? The time we stayed up until light outside, watching Conan O'Brien, and laughing at Moby's performance after New Year's Rockin' Eve...or playing Monopoly and drinking daiquiris that Erika had made in her blender...Party poppers, fireworks, visiting friends, video games, all that's associated with midnight, 01/01.

...Co-nan was going to lower his announcer, Joel, onto his favorite Asian male prostitute at midnight on the West Coast, à la the Big Ball in Times Square...and Moby gave a performance of "Porcelain" that featured a background singer that did nothing more than utter the noise, "Uuhhh...," over and over again. We couldn't get to sleep because we couldn't stop laughing. Those were truly the times I'll always remember--the times I really miss.

I'm grown-up now. I know the world won't end at midnight. Tomorrow will be the same as always...almost.

    Happy New Year ~2009~
