Rotting My Brain
The WB is pointless to me now. I just finished watching The Mountain for the sole reason that James Marsters was playing on it. Okay, I understand in theory that he could be the kid's father because of his age. Kid's 17/18, James being in that early 40 range, it could work. However, when you've built a majority of your career on a character that was eternally in his 20s...it's just jarring to see the same man cast as a father to an almost grown child.
And then there was a preview of 7th Heaven and I'll admit that I wander in and out of that show, so I don't know if I'm guessing correctly, but I remember a huge deal was made that Simon was going to engage in premarital sex. It being 7th Heaven, he felt terrible about it and there was much angst. Does that necessarily have to go to the extreme of "oh my gosh, I got my girlfriend pregnant"? See, that's why you take precautions. Simon's becoming the poster child of bad choices (you know, since Mary got married and has a family now, she can't be the family screw-up anymore). I sometimes watch this show and wonder how it got to be this bad and then I remind myself that it's Aaron Spelling. It's a wonder they're all not turning into Dynasty: The Prequel.
And I'm not going to mention the four hours I spent on the couch this afternoon watching Cowboy U and the two Baywatch episodes with John Cort (blind lifeguard, always was my favorite character, played by John Allen Nelson). I never realized he came back for Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding last year. Now I gotta try to find out if it's ever going to be reshown and if Cort ever went completely blind for it. I have a weakness, we all know it.
