ANOTHER GREAT MOMMY MOMENT...
My son picked out the clothes he wanted to wear to school today. The shirt, a theme shirt, had chinese characters on it above the picture of people on it. He says, "Mommy, look. Power Rangers are Chinese Noodle People." I couldn't resist posting it. I love these moments. Both children cracked me up this morning. My daughter is becoming so much like her mother. She stayed up late last night reading a book she just couldn't put down. Then needing and enjoying her sleep so much she overslept this morning. Coming out into the living room she exclaims, "Why'd you let me sleep so late?!" As if I, the person who loves sleep so much, would deny another the opportunity to relish a few extra moments of slumber.
Now we are watching the news about children raising money for the tsunami victims. My daughter just came back from her room with her six dollars from helping out over her vacation with various things around the house. She said, "If other kids are giving their money, then I'm going to give mine too." Now my son is getting his piggy bank. God. What greater vindication does a parent need to know they are doing right by their children when their children want to do right by those less fortunate. I have to go...my eyes are tearing up.
