ahh i haven't updated in so long! i still have to write about the senses fail show! well, here you go. i'm gonna skip the boring parts and go straight to it.

openers: folly, the beautiful mistake, moneen
doors opened at 5:00, and we were close to the front of the line so we went in pretty much right away. as soon as we got in, we spotted dave [SF guitarist] behind us. whoa, that was quick! we met + took pictures with him. :D after that we spotted garrett - more pictures. then we made our way to the stage. the front of course. ;D and the show begins..
the first band to go on was folly. i'd never heard them before, but holy SHIT were they awesome. i was up front in this little nook in the stage, and agim [folly guitarist] was in front of me. he'd go crazy and the whole front row would lean back, afraid of getting smacked with his guitar. lol. jon [folly lead singer] came up to me during the set, put his hand on my head [hat, actually], kind of threw my head around, using it as his little hand rest, and then moved on. lmao. random. anyway, their set was amazing. agim does some really fun, awesome guitar riffs that i'm in love with. they brought the house down! literally. the ceiling tile fell down during their set. lol. after the set, jon came and sat next to us to get dressed, and we talked to him for like 5 or 10 minutes. we talked about the tour, the show, all kinds of things. fun guy!
after folly was the beautiful mistake. i was really looking forward to seeing them because i'd liked what i'd previously heard, but dude, the lead singer's microphone sucked. you could barely hear him the whole set. that upset me. but the instrumentals were great! hopefully i'll get another chance to see them again with some better sound.
after the beautiful mistake was moneen! the guitarist has some awesome dreads! haha, we talked to him about them. i don't know his name so we just called him "dread man" and later called him "hippie" because that's what one of the roadies referred to him as. lol. during their set, people were getting pushed on the stage insanely, and megan got pushed onto hippie's pedals, and he flipped out and threw his guitar and microphone - yeah, his microphone hit me right in the head, behind my left ear. it hurt like a bitch, but hippie and the roadie apologized and asked if i was okay, so i said i was fine. it hurt like hell, but i wasn't going to complain. :D anyway, moneen was definitely cool. i want hippie's SG, it's beautiful.
and then after moneen, the amazing band i came for - SENSES FAIL. i was still in the little nook in the stage, and dave was right in front of me. i was pretty much under him, so i got some nice pictures from that. wonderful! anyway, they fucking KICKED ASS. when it doesn't seem to be able to get any better, it does every damn time. they played the new pirate song! ["rum is for drinking, not burning"] they also played another new one, and "buried a lie" -- HOLY FUCK THAT WAS AMAZING. the energy during that song was INSANE. then they also played every song from the EP except "dreaming a reality," not counting the acoustic version of "the ground folds." and they did a movielife cover! the whole set was just awesome and SO much fun. the crowd was crazy! the guy next to me kept like getting up onstage and trying to rock out with the band - he actually stood up at one point and put his hand on buddy's shoulder and started singing with him, and buddy just kind of dealt with it for a sec and then walked to the other side of the stage. lmao. oh, and of course, we got to scream "SHOT THROUGH MY HEART!" which is always amazing. yes. i'll stop now. SF was love.
so afterwards we went to talk to everyone. first up was dan [SF drummer] - he was adorably nice. and his smile is so huge and goofy in our pictures! we talked to him about warped tour + things of the sort. fun times!
next i believe was buddy [SF lead singer]. he had his shirt off, so everyone could see that he had his nipples pierced, and some guy yelled "DUDE! NICE NIPPLES!" or "i like your nipples" or something and buddy was like "shut up! they're small! i know!" lol. so we talked to him, took pictures in which he looks awesome [he's making this "grr i'm a rocker" face, lmao]. :D
up next we went and talked to dave [SF guitarist] again! we talked about warped tour, the drive thru dvd, etttc! fun times. he's really nice and easy to talk to and shit. fun guy!
then we went to the merch table and talked to mike [SF bassist] very briefly, since he was selling merch. but we took pictures of course!
after that we went to talk to lewis [kyle lewis, allister guitarist] since we had noticed earlier that he was there. we talked to him about the show at HOB in like april or whenever it is and things of the sort. he's a sweetheart. we took pictures and he's like, "so, i'll.. see.. you.. at.. the show? right?" haha. :D
so then we decided to go outside, where we talked to a LOT of people. jon [folly lead singer] came out and was like "hey you guys!" and we talked for a long ass time and decided that we're best friends. haha. :D took pictures!
then we talked to agim [folly guitarist]! oh god was he wonderful! we talked to him about EVERYTHING - like how he has a "ceiling fetish" lol and he said that we have to hang out every time they come to chicago and whatnot. he's like "did you guys get any stickers?" and we're like "no" and he's like "ahh! come here!" and we headed to the van, where jon was! so we all talked, and agim tried to introduce us to jon and he's like "i know them! we got dressed together!" since he was getting dressed after their set while talking to us. lol. we made sure agim remembered us, and he took pictures of us on his camera. so did jon! and then on our cameras we took pictures w/ agim. so yeah, they better remember us lol. they're both so much fun. <33
we also talked to sean [SF guitar tech]. dude, he's so entertaining! he's hilarious. we talked to him about the DVD - the whole "spanish" scene. hilarious. :D
we talked with moneen's roadie, i'm not sure if we caught his name. he was asking us all sorts of questions and whatnot and telling us all about all the guys on the tour. he said that garrett really just doesn't like talking to people, or doesn't like people in general. lol. he said he'll expect to see us in the scene in a couple years, hopefully in a band. :D
mike [SF bassist] came out so we talked some more with him. we talked to him for quite a long time! he was so, SO nice! we chatted about tons of things, got some hugs, and when we'd taken his time for a while, we're like "okay, well, you probably have to go, so.." and he's like "oh! oh yeah, they're probably waiting for me," like he wasn't even thinking about stopping talking to us. i thought that was awesome, because it shows he really does enjoy talking with his fans and getting to know them. he's awesome. :D and yeah, if you think from pictures that he has the most beautiful eyes you've ever seen, you HAVE to see them in person. <33 lol. he said he expects to see us at rufio. :D i can't wait!
we also talked more with buddy [SF lead singer]! about rufio, warped tour, the dvd, etc. moneen's roadie said that buddy is usually pretty hard to talk to, so he said we did good. buddy was awesome. megan was telling him how much she depends on listening to them and how she has to listen to them every day, and he's like, "it's okay! it's okay to be addicted!" lol.
that was about it! random chats and goodbyes with everyone - hippie, agim, jon, all our boys. what a GREAT night. :D
