last night was amazing..
..wow i sound like i had sex. lmao. anyway..
so last night was the matchbook romance, fall out boy, mest, and dynamite boy show. it was at the vic theatre in chicago and i attended it with megan, becka, and megan's cousin mandy. we got a bit lost on the way there but we made it there with plenty of time to spare. :D

anyway. first i passed out a few flyers for the scrapbook here and there, but i was pretty much waiting until after the show to hand 'em out. dynamite boy came on first. they were really fun! we noticed judas on the side of the stage rocking out and singing along. :D dirty [MBR's seller.. usually.. but this time there was just one random merch man, haha] came out onstage with dynamite boy and sang ACDC's "TNT" oh god it was so friggen fun!! i loved their cover of it. so yeah, dynamite boy was cool.
up next was my favourite, the band i live for, MATCHBOOK ROMANCE. you have no idea how much i'd been anticipating seeing them once again! judas was having some technical problems with his guitar, as they were onstage preparing for a long time, but the wait was well worth it! let me tell you!
becka and i had been singing "my eyes burn" all night because, well, our eyes burned. lol. so when they opened their set with "my eyes burn," it was the perfect start! the rush of energy, happiness, and pure emotion through my body was so great to feel again from seeing matchbook live. they have such a wonderful effect on me! i can't even begin to imagine how wide-eyed i must have looked during their set. :D
MBR played an awesome set! the song i was most looking forward to seeing live again was "hollywood + vine," since that was the first song i'd ever heard by them and it's always meant so much to me. seeing that song live is amazing. it's like.. "this is why i friggen love matchbook romance." it puts reason to everything. not that the rest of their songs don't, but that song just means a whole lot to me. i don't remember the exact set list and i won't try to, but they closed it off with "promise," which andy so sweetly dedicated to his girlfriend. aww. <33
so once again, matchbook romance is awesomeamazingincredible live. :D
next up was chicago's own, fall out boy! :D being from chicago, i found it insane that i've never seen fall out boy live before and never really even got into them until a few months ago, so it was definitely a necessary experience! they were SO fun! i adore patrick's voice, pete's ass-shaking, joe's intense energy, and andrew (aka andy, i'm not sure which he prefers to be called) throws it all together with an amazing beat. ;) my favourite song by FOB to hear live would have to be "grand theft autumn." it was awesome to hear the whole crowd start off with the intro, patrick not even having to sing. <33 amazing. these boys really mix it up, too! while most of time the band members will pretty much stay to their sides, go back and forth a couple times, petey and joe were all over the place! great for people like me who want to take pictures of everyone! another of my favourite moments was hearing patrick's voice go ever-so-high during "saturday" heh heh i loved it!! :D anyway, fall out boy ROCKED.
up next was mest, but i didn't stay to watch. it was my fifth time seeing them so i was content, even though i could've gotten some amazing pictures, it was necessary that i left. this is where the magic happens! haha.
so i went out in the lobby and found becka and megan. they'd been out there during FOB and met matt and jeremiah from mest! i'll admit i was a bit jealous, i even admitted so to them, but staying for fall out boy's set was worth not meeting them, to be honest!
the boys of fall out boy started to come out! we were on the look out for my MBR boys, but none were to be found. i was about to talk to joe of FOB when i heard megan yell "sarah!" and i turned around and she goes "isn't this the guy you have a HUGE crush on?" which i didn't hear and thought she said "don't you want to talk to him?" or something and i look and it's JUDAS of MBR! my jaw just about dropped and i was like "YES!" haha i don't think he heard the crush thing, lol, but he could have because he had a big old smile on his face. lol. but he smiles a lot, so, yeah. <33
i introduced myself and asked him to sign some things (an 8x10 live picture of him i took in november and a poster) and everything, and i was like "okay, so, i don't know if you remember, but about a month ago on the message boards there was a post about a girl making a scrapbook for you guys" and he's like "yeah! i remember!" or something to that extent and i was like "that's me!" and he's like "really? that's you? awesome!" :D and he really DID remember, i know, because without me mentioning anything, he was like "yeah but i don't know if we're going to be at the chicago warped tour" which is where i said (on the boards) that i was going to give it to them, and i was like "what?! why?!" and he's like "well i don't know when the chicago date is, but we're only playing the second half of the tour." and i was like "yeah we're july 24th, you guys start the 18th" and he's like "oh okay, cool! then we'll be there!" or something, again, to that extent. :D so him and becka and i took a picture together. ;) can't wait to get that one! i thanked him and whatnot and let him talk to some other fans. :D
i think the next person we talked with was patrick of fall out boy. oh god is he adorable. esp. when he wears his glasses! we took pictures and whatnot. he was a sweetheart. not too much interesting conversation though, i think he was with his girlfriend or something because i saw them holding hands later. had to give them their time to catch up, even if it was just a friend!
next up i'd say was petey! he was coming in the lobby area and people started to approach him and he's like "hold on! i'll be right back! i gotta go talk to my mom!" haha, aww! too cute. but we talked to him a bit later, took some pictures, the usual. he's SO nice and is ALWAYS smiling and i love it. <33
i'm not sure about the order of this one, because we talked to this guy like three times, haha, but next up we took a picture with joe from fall out boy! more about joe later.
then we took a picture with andrew/andy, also of fall out boy! he was another really nice one! they all are! gosh! he thanked us for coming and whatnot. nice guy!! :D
now back to joe! haha, we had to ask him why they weren't doing chicago warped tour! he went on to explain the processes of warped tour and how they're happy enough just to be on the tour since this is their first year on it. they've got about 10 dates scheduled right now and they'll take whatever warped will give them, but they're hoping to score some more dates. megan tried to make sure he'll remember her, so let's hope so! he was a sweetheart. <33 he said they should be back around april or may i think.
speaking of coming back.. MBR will be back in may with a HEADLINING tour. <33 i cannot wait!
we were waiting around for some MBR guys to come out, but none were coming, so megan and becka decided they had to go watch "fuck the greyhound bus." i didn't want to carry my stuff (my purse, camera, flyers, a zip-up i'd just bought..), so i stayed behind. good thing i did, because guess who came out! a guy i'd been waiting to talk to ALL night. RYAN of MBR!!
i couldn't wait to talk to him because of how nice he was last time we'd talked. i asked him to sign a few things and asked him if he'd heard about the scrapbook, and he hadn't, so i was like, "well, a bunch of matchbook fans are sending in letters, reviews, pictures, and stuff that i'm putting together to make a scrapbook for you guys," and he's like, "what?! thank you! come here!" and he gave me a big hug. <33 sweetheart. we took a picture, i thanked him, he thanked me, it was mutual. haha. i was so happy to get to talk to him!
i went in the other room to see if megan and becka were standing in back or anything so i could tell them to come meet ryan, but i didn't see them so i walked around a little bit, but i couldn't find them. i went back out incase andy or aaron came out, but they didn't. i talked to some matchbook fans though and handed out some flyers!
when megan and becka came back out i told them about ryan, and then chris (fall out boy's friend -- "hey chris.. you were our only friend.." you know the song!) offered us a coca cola! so we were like, sure! haha. that was about it for the show! then we went outside and froze our asses off passing out flyers in the snow. i couldn't feel my fingers.. they were pretty purple. ah well! got some flyers + a sampler cd and stuff. cool shit!
anyway, AMAZING show. such a great night. i cannot WAIT to get my pictures developed. but this is long enough, so i'll stop. any questions, comments, reply. :D
