Zwei Stammtische
| Ich habe Stammtische zweimal in Dezember hier in Virginia besucht. Ich schreibe heute über eine Stammtische, warum ich gehen will, und natürlich diese zwei Stammtische. In Deutschland sind die Stammtische meistens die regelmaßige Treffen von Freunden. In Deutschland waren Leute überrascht, das in America haben wir auch eine Stammtische. Aber in America sind die Stammtische nur für Deutschsprechen, und die Leute sind nicht immer schon Freunden.
In Deutschland hat das Goethe Institut ein wöchentlichen Stammtisch für die Studenten, beide in Berlin und Bonn. Hier in Amerika haben sie ein monatlichen Stammtisch, der ich noch nicht besucht hat. Ich habe hier ein paar Fotos von der Stammtische in Deutschland.

In December, I went to Stammtisches here in Virginia twice. I'm writing today about Stammtisches, why I want to go to them, and of course about these two. In Germany most Stammtisches are regular meetings for friends. In Germay the people were surprised that in America we also have Stammtisches. However, in America the Stammtisches are only for German Conversation, and the people are not always already friends. The Goethe Intsitute in Germany holds weekly Stammtisches for students both in Berlin and Bonn. Here in America they have a monthly Stammtisch, which I have not yet gone to. I have here a couple of photos of the Stammtisches in Germany.

Die Zuerst Stammtisch, der ich besucht habe, ist ein langfristiger Stammtisch, in dem ein paar meiner Freunden eine Mitglieder sind. Ich habe gehört, dass er bei eine Studenten aus NVCC (Northern Virginia Community College) gegründet wurde, aber ich bin nicht sicher. Jetzt sind viele Leute aus Goethe Institut Mitglieder, und auch viele Deutschen.
Dieser Stammtisch ist sehr gut für mich, weil so viel Leute sehr gut Deutsch sprechen, und es gibt so viele Deutschen, aber die Leute wissen einander sehr und sie sind ein bisschen cliquenhaft. Aber sie sind freundlich, also ich bin hoffentlich, dass ich viele Freunden hier kennenlerne. Und ich habe schon Freunden hier.

The first Stammtisch that I visited is a longstanding Stammtisch, which a couple of my friends are members of. I heard that this Stammtisch was set up by some Students from NVCC, but I am not sure. Now there are many people from Goethe Institute members and also many Germans.
This Stammtisch is very god for me, because so many people speak such good German, and there are many Germans, but the people know each other very well and are a tiny bit cliquey. But they are friendly, and I am hopeful that I can make many friens here. And I alreay have friends here.

Stammtisch in Bonn

Der andere Stammtisch ist eine Internet-Meetup Gruppe. Jederman kann hier kommen, also die Gruppe ist besonders verschieden. Es gibt ein paar Deutschen oder Österreicheren, und ein paar Anfänger, ein Übersetzer, und ein paar Leute, die relativ gut Deutsch sprechen. Das ist interessant zu mir, weil ich kann andere Leute helfen, Deutsch zu lernen, während ich auch lerne. Diese Gruppe ist kleiner als die andere, aber sehr freundlich.
Für mich sind die Stammtische wichtig, weil ich nicht oft Deutsch sprechen kann. Diese Frühling habe ich nicht eine gewöhnlich Klasse, aber eine Fernklasse. Also ich muss die Zugang Deutsch zu sprechen selbst finden.
Ich muss gehe. Hoffentlich schreibe ich wieder dieser Wochenende über meine Neujahrsvorsätze, oder die Neujahrsvorsätze über Deutsch.

The other Stammtisch is an Internet Meetup Group. Anyone can come to it, so the group is very diverse. There are a couple of Germans or Austrians, a couple of beginners, a translator, and a few people who speak relatively good German. It's interesting to me that there are people here that I can help to learn German, while I am also learning. This group is smaller than the other, but very friendly.
For me the Stammtisches are important because I can't speak German often. I'm not in a regular class this spring, but in a distance learning program. So I have to find access to German speaking myself.
I have to go. Hopefully I'll write again this weekend about my New Year's resolutions, or my New Year's resolutions about German.
