Well, we picked up the new kitty. Her name is Emme. She hides in a box and in the window, behind the curtain. After two weeks, she is still hissing at me and John whenever she sees us. I dropped her off at the vet today to be declawed and I can't believe how much it's costing me...but rules is rules :/

Declaw: $292
Antibiodicts: $35
Teeth Cleaning: $89
Shots: $40
Pre-Op Bloodwork: $65

Which brings the grand total to a whopping $521.
*sigh* Guess I'm going to be staying home for a while until I recoup.

John and I have two weeks off in August. The second week, we're going to the beach with my family. The first week, we are busting our asses on the backyard. John wants to build a little landscaping wall around a portion of the patio. A brief summary:

Monday: have dumpster delieverd. spray poison ivy, oak, and sumac. bug-bomb shed. cut grass. start wall.
Tuesday: work on wall. pull out fence. clean up bamboo.
Wednesday: rip out deceased poisonous vegetation. clean out shed. make outside of shed more presentable. put up new fence. landscape around tree.
Thursday: finish wall. shovel dirt pile into woods. bricks into dumpster. pull weeds. replant hosta and iris.
Friday: clean table. set up hamock and laundry line. buy umbrella, chairs, torchiers, candles.

It's going to be a lot of work but I'm really looking foward to it. More than anything, I'm looking forward to not having to be here at work :/
