Well, we had our housewarming party. The only people that didn't show that I wish had were Jamie and Jami. Leslie and I went to pick up Jess, shot the shit for a few with Nateykins and then spend about a half hour searching for missing dogs that somehow slipped out of Jess's house. I heart Tiva and Murph though. As far as dogs go, they are truly the most awesome. Jess will be called upon to help me train my new dog(!!!). Anyways, when we got back to the house, there were already a lot of people there, half of which I didn't know. I feel like I didn't get to spend as much time as I wanted with everyone individually but c'est la vie, it was a party and I was half of the hosting...ers. I tried hard not to stress and I think I did a fairly good job maintaining my nerves...I wish that John had waited until this semester was over to have the party but ah well, it turned out fine.
Leslie had spent the night before and it was so nice to finally get to see her again. We went to dinner Saturday night for my bday (Iron Hill on the Riverfront...wha?? There IS such a place? Yes Les, there is :P) and sat out on the deck...the Blue Rocks had fireworks going off and we could see them from our table. It was just a really cool night. Then yesterday, after my house was cleaned to my liking, Leslie and I went to CP and to Baglemania, more for old time's sake than anything else (ok, we were starving too) and it's so weird the memories those places hold. Not to get all sentimental and crap but those really were the good ol' days. Now Leslie's far away and Jess is here but were all so freaking busy...ok, quarter way through the year resolution: stay in better touch with the real friends while I have the chance.
Jess, bless her heart, stayed to help clean up last night and we got to catch up - made plans to go to RenFaire this year with Mike and Carolyn. Everyone just got along so well, I didn't feel like anyone was uncomfortable or had nothing to say or no one they could talk to if I was off mingling. It was a successful day and everyone loved the house (my shoe closet was a big hit) and Heather of all people asked me to help her decorate her apartment. So Jess FINALLY has a valid ID as of today and we are soooo going out to the bars. Leslie invited me to her house and to go riding with her -- we've been friends for years and I've never met her horses -- and I am definetly taking her up on the offer. Ugh, I love my friends so much and I got so caught up in everything and how far away some of them live that I am just realizing how much I love and miss them. Me, Jess, and Leslie, the CP sisters, definetly need a girls night out.
Tomorrow will be 2 years since Leslie and I went skydiving...it seems like forever ago and yesterday at the same time...I believe it was a red hot chili pepper that said, 'I love all of you'. Tons.
