    Settling in
So, four months later, I get around to posting...

I've moved back into school, and am pretty settled in already. Courtney and I moved in at about the same time, so we got to arrange our room right away. We bunked our beds this year, and it gives the room a MUCH more airy feeling. There's pictures on my photobucket (there should be a link in a previous entry somewhere), but they don't really show the feeling of space in the room. Courtney and I both like the bunk beds, but it's taking a little bit to get used to...

I've got two jobs on campus this semester. I'm a Student Ambassador, and today was my first day of work for the year! I stuffed envelopes for an hour... not too exciting, but I was promised that I would generally be giving tours, since I'm scheduled at a great tour-giving-time... or something.

I also take notes, copy them, and give them to someone in my class. I'm taking them for Spanish, which actually helps me a lot for two major reasons: 1. It's not so hard going to class, knowing that I'm getting paid, and 2. recopying my notes helps me learn a little better. However, the guy I'm taking notes for doesn't show up for class, and hasn't picked up any of his notes, so I don't know how long this job is going to hold out... but until they tell me to stop, I'll keep copying notes and put it on my timesheet :)

My classes are all going pretty well, except for Spanish. Even with the two aforementioned points, it's still my least favorite class, and the hardest one I have. My mind just doesn't like the idea that a door can be called something other than "door," or that when I say "pencil" in Spanish, I have to say "el" first, because pencil is a masculine word...

Other than Spanish, I'm taking philosophy, a sociology class, a psychology class, and a religious class. The philosophy one is immensly entertaining. El profesor (practicing my Spanish!) is amazing, and has more energy than should be possible. Courtney is in that class with me, and I think we both get a huge kick out of it all...

My sociology class studies deviance in society, which doesn't sound like too much fun, but I'm really enjoying it, along with my psychology class, which studies learning. Both of these classes are the first ones that I'm taking that are beyond the intro level in something that I'm really excited about, which makes them even better. My psychology teacher makes silly little psych jokes - my kind of humor :)

My religion class is great, too. La profesora (giggle) holds the classes as a seminar, so we all sit in a circle and talk about the book we're reading. She's got a great personality, and it makes the hour and 15 minute class go by FAST. There's only 16 of us in that class, and it already feels kind of cozy and family-like.

Anyways, that's kind of what's been up with me lately. I'll try to remember to update this again soon...
