Encased in stone. A slender hand is found reaching out of a block of concrete at a construction site in London. A worker runs to call the police and hours later, with sirens flashing and the static of radios echoing through the streets, there are no answers, only more questions. The victim is a woman of wealth and distinction, obviously tortured before her death- however, the concrete was not poured around her body. Instead it is as if she appeared inside of it. The authorities are perplexed but they're running out of time. The year is 2004. The crime was committed on the site of a slowly rebuilding Parliament. England wants answers- answers where there are none to give. But that is because they are muggles. Behind the scenes, the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic has sprung into action. They know what the public does not- the killer has struck before and will strike again. Wands and Order is going to be full of mature content. This means all sorts of situations from graphic sex scenes (m/m, f/f, and m/f) to touchy subjects such as murders, violence, and general crimes. There will be fluff, there will be comedy - but overall, Wands and Order is a game that isn't for those who squick easily. Hopefully, with this age limit, we'll be able to create an RPing environment that's conducive to both quality writing and a great deal of fun. + Friendly players! We're all quite nice at Wands and Order and are looking to expand our group with other easy-going, fun people. + Good grammar and spelling! This means no netspeak or abbreviations. A few typos are always understandable, but if your character's entry is rife with them, expect an email or IM from one of the mods. + Active players! Wands and Order is fairly laid back when it comes to posting in general, but this doesn't mean that you can go a month without posting and expect to get off clean. We understand that RL can become troublesome and we're more than willing to make allowances for that, but you need to keep in touch with us about what's going on. + A willingness to plot and scheme! Players can't depend solely on the mods for plot ideas. You must be willing to speak to other players, get in touch with them, create mischief on your own. + Open-mindedness! As mentioned above, there will most likely be a great deal of touchy content in Wands and Order. This includes graphic sex scenes - slash, femmeslash, het. All of it. If you're squeamish about any of that, then Wands and Order might not be the best place for you. However, the game isn't going to be based solely on the sex lives of various characters. We do have actual plot. There will be violence, attacks, deaths... it would be wonderful if you were willing to help plan with that, volunteer your character's family for maiming/death... that sort of thing. :D + Canon! Wands and Order is a post-war RPG. We are HBP-compliant and looking for players who are interested in helping us explore the possibilities JKR opened up for us in HBP. Plausibility is a must in Wands and Order – for everyone. This means Dumbledore will not be miraculously coming back to life and neither is Sirius Black. We ask that, when you're interested in creating individual plots, etc, you clear them with us (the mods) first so that nothing off-the-wall comes about – purposefully or accidentally. What We're Offering: + A well-organized RPG! We have plans outlined for events in Wands and Order and it will run in real-time, which means if you post on July 10, 2007, it translates as July 10, 2004. + Good grammar and spelling! We want everyone in Wands and Order to have fun, but that doesn't mean we're going to let sloppy writing slide. + A friendly group of RPers! Our current members are all quite wonderful. They're more than willing to give you a warm welcome, to plot with you, and to just be randomly nice. + Activity! No one wants to be a part of an RPG that stagnates. The mods do everything possible to keep Wands and Order fun and entertaining. + Greatestjournal! Because Wands and Order is on GJ, your characters can have as many icons as you'd like. Also, despite the fact that there aren't as many preset layouts there, members of the game are more than willing to help you figure out how to customize your character's journal, if you're not quite sure how. + Flexibility! We'll put a character on hold for you, if you know you want to apply but aren't quite sure when you'll be able to get the app in. Just understand that a character can't remain on hold indefinitely and, after a period of three days they're going to need to go back to being available. + A fresh start! Wands and Order hasn't officially opened yet! The game will begin once twelve character slots have been filled. Before Applying: + Please make sure you've read the rules linked above. The mods don't want to have to hound you about silly little things - it takes up time we could be devoting to our characters and it annoys you, neither of which we like! + Realize that, because this is post-HBP, there will be spoilers for the book. Don't come into the game and then complain about that. DH will not be incorporated unless by the consent of all players involved. + Understand that Wands and Order is a very open-minded sort of RPG. Don't give other players a hard time about their character's sexual orientation, the amount of RPs they do, or the content of those RPs. If you have an issue with another player, please speak to one of the mods and they'll handle the situation in such a way that all parties will, hopefully, be satisfied. + Know that any and all plot suggestions are welcome. This isn't to say that, if you suggest we bring Dumbledore and Sirius Black back from the dead, we're going to agree to do it. But we'll look at subplots, relationship suggestions, possible deaths, or major events. If it's plausible, more than likely, we'll try working it in.
