GRAWR!!!!
And so, by this time next week I'll be fidling around with my Brand New Nikon D70s.
After two years of trying to save up for one, I was finally able to get a quotation for the D-SLR when Thy decided to get one at Quiapo. Thanks to Ketch's assist, we found our way around the congested open-market and got Thy her D40x from the same shop Ketch got his D70s.
Way back then, the D70s cost Ketch about 46-47K. Last time we went there, the price for the kit was about 45. I'm hoping like a little girl on Santa's lap that the price goes down even further by July 2, which is when I'm getting the cam.
Originally, the plan was to save up the cash and get the future HN-D70s on July 7, 2007. But with the imposibility of buying it at 7:07 am, and my logical desire not to stay in Quiapo until 7:07Pm, I figured I could cut a couple 7's of the roster.
Yes... I wanted to Buy a Nikon D70s on 07/07/2007 at 7:07.
But woah is me, for alas it cannot be.
So I'm just gonna get at D70s on 07/02/2007. I figure the three 7's will be enough. Plus that added hint of Luck as based off more superstitious people.
Here's the catch. With delayed project payments, I had to take the cash out of my Savings. Yes... my Life Savings. Right now it's down to a VERY eye-opening amount. Which makes the D-SLR, the most expensive toy I'll ever buy.
Yes... a toy. I don't see myself going Pro-Photographer even if I'm keeping my (Black Body) Nikon F60. About the main factor for me getting one is to save on buying and developing Film. The other factors include complete control which a Cybershot can't quite offer.
Minimal factors include it's model number being based on the number 7, my birth month and year, and that my first SLR is the F60 so it would make sense to upgrade to the (although currently out-classed by the D80 and D2x) D70s.
The 's' moniker actually adds to the cost since the original model, the D70, costs about 10-12K less. The main difference is a better looking (and slightly larger) Review Screen and updated software.
So anyhoo... there goes my cash. As of today, all my Major Project income goes straight to the bank.
My allowance will be the daily income I get for going to the office for the week.
Yesh.... This Demon Lord just turned poor again TT_TT
But with that new cam, it might just be worth it.
