    childhood candies
Funny thing happened today. Was talking to some friends and the topic veered to a very interesting discussion on the candies we used to have as kids. This discussion evoked some nostalgic memories. I remembered how I used to buy the "rosemint" and "peppermint" candies for 50 paise a pack. They were small rectangular treats stacked in a pack. I've always wondered what happened to them ?
Also remembered the phantom "cigarette" candies. They used to be shaped like cigarettes, white body with a red end to denote the lighted end of the cigarette. We used to feel so self important "smoking" those candies. It was also discontinued !
We had so many other candies like "morton" (for the record, I hated the coconut filling, but loved the rest of it), "orange" toffee - it was a round and hard candy which you could suck on till eternity.
Then I graduated on to bubble gums. Imagine having a gum in mouth for all the waking hours ! Even while eating, the gum would be stuck on a cheek (from inside the mouth of course) ;)
Well, when you have a nostalgic thought like "childhood candies" suddenly overwhelm you, you think of just one thing "those were the days ! "
