I made it to New Orleans and it is good to be settled down in once place again. Tomorrow, I push off to Athens, GA and that should be a rather arduous trek I think. I was in Lubbock the other day and I had a great time hanging out with my friends Steven and Melanie. Steven and I watched a funny DVD called "the Legend of Boggy Creek" circa 1975 that was this documentary that takes place in Arkansas among the swamps. It is basically really cheesy and about a half man-half hairy ape with three toes on each foot that roams the swamps and attacks farm animals. They showed it (the swamp monster) and it seemed funny since it was basically a man in a gorilla costume. Also, the soundtrack to that documentary is very funny. It is composed of folksy local shmocal music with a 70's edge to it and with lyrics dealing directly with the topic of the monster. My show in Denton never happened. My show yesterday in New Orleans did not happen. I went to Bourbon and Canal street and walked around the French Quarter. It is crazy and people throw beads at others from the drunken balconies above Bourbon street. I'm playing at Nick's house which is uptown at 836 State at 7:30. Post a comment in response: |
