    I like Fridays
So yesterday I got a random invite after classes to bike down to the rotating sushi place on the other side of town. I went more for the atmosphere and the company (since I don't eat sushi) but it was a lot of fun! We took the long path by the castle to get there, and went into a district that was so Classical Japan I wanted to burst. It was really really beautiful. At the restaurant, there was taiko drumming in the background, everything was sunk into the floor so it was *like* you were sitting on the floor but still had room for your feet. I wish I had been smart and brought my camera, but sadly I did not. We were there for almost 2 hours, but I had to get back at 2.10 for a practice session with Melville-sensei. I followed people kinda on the way back, and we saw groups of monks blessing the shops in return for alms. Serious! It was so cool, they had on these rope shoes and those massive hats that shade you from everything, it was amazing. Then, while everyone else went to the bank and such, I biked back to JCMU as fast as I could. Whew, what a workout!! I was sweating like a big, gasping for breathe, when I hobbled into sensei's office (since I couldn't walk straight with all the biking O_o) and said my apologies for being late.

Melville-sensei is probably the awesomest sensei ever. She's really intimidating (I think I mentioned that before) because she's loud and very animated, but she's *so* helpful with improving your skills. Since no one else had signed up for yesterday, my practice went from being 10 minutes long to being 50 minutes long. We talked about where I had gone that I was rushing back, what shopping is like at the MoA and all sorts of stuff. I hope it sticks, is all.

Next week we have our first midterm exam. I'm doing all right in the class so far, but I'm not sure how the test will fare. I'm going to try and study as much as I can, but I'm not sure what to expect so it's hard to decide what's important to study.

Plans are as follows: This afternoon go out to see Batman! Yay!
    Next week: Thusday- Midterm
Friday- Elementary school visits and Shiga University visit
Satuday- Kyoto for culture and shopping ^_^

I'll try to remember to update again sometime soon, I'm just so easily distracted, and there's only so much you can talk about when it comes to school.
