Lee Evans Jaguars Jersey - Lee Evans signs deal with Jacksonville Jaguars
Weeks after visiting Jacksonville Jaguars, receiver Lee Evans wore Lee Evans Jaguars Jersey and agreed to a one-year deal Monday with the organization. Lee Evans was a first-round draft pick in Buffalo when Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey was the head coach there. He spent seven seasons with the Bills and last season with the Baltimore Ravens. During his time with the Bills, Evans had 1,000-yard receiving years in 2006 and 2008. Baltimore acquired Evans in a trade before the 2011 season. He only played in nine games because of injuries and started two last season. Evans, 31, also gained notoriety during this year’s AFC Championship game when he failed to catch what would have been a game-winning touchdown from Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco. After the game there was debate about whether the play resulted in a catch or whether the ball was knocked from Evans’ hands. The Jaguars previously signed former Dallas receiver Laurent Robinson to a five-year deal worth $32.5 million. Jacksonville ranked last in the NFL in passing offense last season and set out to upgrade its receiving corps this offseason. They planned to add two receivers through free agency or the draft this offseason. It remains possible they draft a dynamic receiver next week. During the free-agency period, the Jaguars have also signed quarterback Chad Henne and cornerback Aaron Ross as well as re-signing many of their own players. Financial terms of Evans’ deal were not immediately available.
