I'll Draw on my Face if you Want me to
"So cute it kinda hurts?" "I want to pinch you."
I dont get it. Maybe I missed something, or maybe I never really got the memo, and the cool media stream attached to it, but I do not get it. What makes Dave Matthews and his Band so great? Dont get me wrong, Im not dissing the guy. (Dissing, who still says that?) But I mean, I never got the whole appeal. Maybe my trek in a 3rd world country had something to do with it, I dont know. Doesnt seem likely, because the second my whole grade entered high school everyone seemed to up and love that crazy character. Maybe thats another reason? Eveyone else likes him, so his appeal to me just went down a little. But that doesnt seems right, because Ive never been one to like or dislike something just because of everybody else. It does push a motive, but still....cant be it. Because I dont hate the guy. The songs Ive heard are enjoyable, just not orgasmic as my peers lead you to believe. To me, he sounds rather like every other contemporary rock man in his genre, granted he could be the pioneer, but still...I just dont see it. Kinda of reminds me of when I was in 8th grade and spoke the words "I hate Rap" and everyone in the school stopped what they were doing and looked. I did at the time, i dont anymore.
Just another thing that leads me to think of levels of maturity. My musical taste have evolved grossly, yet people still tend receive the vibe of only "DEATH METAL ROCK!!! YEA!!!" from me, and I dont get it. Oh well. It just confuses me, and I dont get the fact of social music tastes. Along with trying to fit in, in highschool, you can see ppl tryin to fit in in the real world. And i sometimes wonder if people listen to old music, to try and fit in, or to try and be someone they're not. One example I will throw out there is "The Grateful Dead." What the fuck? Okay, Ill admit I wore a Grateful Dead shirt in highschool, because I liked the shirt and I liked to the Grateful Dead song I heard that day, but I NEVER ran around claiming I love them. Cuz why? Granted there are a few ppl out there who do love them, but loving them becasue your friends love them is petty. And it shows me that your still stuck in high school, and yo should have not graduated.
I personally would have to say my musical genre is more of a grunge type thing. But then thad be a lie because I love almost everything. I mean look at the 3 C.D.'s in my car right now. Modest Mouse, Skindred, and a NIN Mix. Wow! How similiar are any of those? Oh right, not at all.
I like cute female vampires that agree we'd be a very hott vampire couple.
Crazy Hippies (not that there's anything wrong with that!)
I love going to parties. I know, right? "Ewwwwww, who parties?!?! What a loser! He goes to parties." Yea? Well I happen to love them, and Friday night was fun, but not because of the party. Because of the marks, and the skin, and proximity. I love Rasberry Snapple. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
If people were my next door neighbors, things would be more fun, longer. Like think about it. We wouldnt have to leave at 3:30 to be home on time, we could stay out later. Have fun longer. Make more contact. Keep up the cannibalism. We wouldn't have to stop being french. And maybe sleep next to each other again. But who am I kidding? My neighbors suck. Thats why driving is so important. Thats why its important to call when I get home safely. Thats why I like happy music. Thats why my hand is on the passenger seat. Thats why my white car with no heat, doesnt matter. Thats why work is worth the shitty-ness. Thats why I like parties. Thats why. There is a really pretty reason why. =)
