Actually got a tax rebate today! First one ever. I shouldn't normally have to think about that sort of thing because I'm on PAYE, but I think it relates to that whole tax debacle of a couple of years back, where they'd either charged too much or too little. Either way, I am most gratified to be in the rebate category. It's not huge or anything, but it's not a fiver either, so I'm quite chuffed. It'll help out a little with my event/con habit, anyway. *snigger*
H has either been at band or practising frantically for band in his non-work hours because he has a concert this weekend and next, so a lot of music with which to familiarize himself in a relatively short time. That has meant we've not spent much time together for the last few days, although we did get a fair bit during the long weekend, so we can hang in there for a while.
Put the new mattress topper on the spare bed (on top of the old one so it's double-thickness). Still firm, but softer than before, I hope. It felt good to me, put it that way, but I am a firmness freak, so the futon was only a little too hard before. Soon I'll be able to get some third-party opinions, yes, yes.
