Say That Again?

"I'm pregnant."
Sorrowstorm couldn't even believe what he just heard. "I believe that humor holiday of yours is still a while off."
Sighing, Zi just told herself that disbelief was good. Or, at least, it was a lot better than anger. "Um, Sorrow? I'm...not joking this time."
The Tayledras simply looked at her as if she had grown a second head. Which she had, actually. Only the new head was inside her instead of visible.
"Are you sure?"
She fidgeted a bit. "Goten was the one who told me first, and the doctor confirmed it this morning." Staying still, she waited for a reaction - any reaction. When a couple of minutes passed without anything from Sorrowstorm, Zi could very nearly feel her heart break. She turned away, thinking the Tayledras was rejecting her - them....
When he saw Zi turning away, Sorrowstorm wrapped his arms around her, holding the Air Lord close and keeping her from running. "When do we need to have the baby's room ready?" he asked softly. He merely held her as she turned in his arms to bury her face in his chest. "Well?"
"Early September."
Stormsong smiled, the weight of Sorrowstorm lifting off his shoulders. "Then we shall be ready."
