    New Morning/Claire Leaves
It did storm that night. Shortly after I took the drugged up, knocked out Jack to his hut.

I knew it stormed because I was up the entire night. Mostly writing in my diary. Writing about Jack....and Sawyer.....Jack......and Sawyer. I was a complete mess right now. I felt that spark with Sawyer again. I felt it when we talked, argued, and especially when I sat on him. It was practically gleaming between us. And he was there for me. He had every opportunity to just crumble my heart. But he didn't. His heart of gold shone through.

And Jack. I knew this was right for us, but... Everything was balking the break up. We had to break up. What the bloody hell was this island doing to us?

Christopher barely fussed throughout the night. He slept mostly. I was wide awake the whole night, while he slept. The irony.

But as soon as the sun rose, he was up and screaming. I was distracted for a couple of hours as I tended to him. During that time, I knew what I planned to do was right.

First, I scrawled a note to Sawyer. Dear Sawyer, I've left for a bit, hips. I need to clear my head a bit. I'll be back shortly. When I return, we'll do this eye examine. And don't think of disappearing on me again. I will find you. Love, Claire. I folded the note and lay it across his chest as he slept. I brushed his hair off his forehead and kissed his temple.

Now, the hard part. The note to everyone else........ Would Charlie, Locke, or even Jack just pack up and find me? No, I had to insist that they didn't. Dear Everyone, I needed some time away. I've taken Christopher and will return in a few days once my head is clear. Charlie, Locke, Jack....promise NOT to find me. I need this. I'll be fine. See you soon! Love, Claire. I grabbed a safety pin from the sewing kit and stuck the note to the door. If someone stopped by, they would see it.

I stuffed my bag with things Christopher would need. I packed a few water bottles, my diary, a pen, and book. I eased Christopher into his carrier, gathered my things, and left.

I walked to the shoreline, and took a left. I just kept walking. It was still early, so hardly anyone was up. I walked and walked until I could no longer see camp. I walked more just to be further away in case someone stubborn did come after me.

I settled on the sand, in the sparse shade, lathered Christopher up with sunscreen, and pulled my diary out again.
