Weekend update
Yesterday my knitting group took a field trip & went to the Griffith Observatory. It was a wonderful day & we had a lot of fun. I was a little disappointed in the planetarium show - but that was pretty much strictly because of the voice of the person doing the narration. She looked to be about 25, but she had the sing-song-y voice of a 90-year-old, and she constantly put me to sleep. But I'd occasionally jerk myself awake & be really impressed by the visuals before her voice knocked me out again. Melanie, who had been there in July, said the narrator she'd had before had been much better, so maybe I'll try to get there again someday & try again.
Today I'm working. I had to call in to a phone conference at 6:45 & help operations bring down a system. Then an hour later I had to help them bring up the system, and then do checkout on the system once it was up. My 'help' to operations consisted of 'follow the directions Jeff sent you.' My checkout was pretty much just running one program (that operations could have performed) and making sure it ran okay. For that, I woke up at 6am on a Sunday morning. I'm still stuck on the phone call, because there are other pieces, unrelated to mine, which are being tested & if they fail, everything (including my part) will have to be backed out.
