Because when the end comes, all that will be left is us...
Gosh, Adagio is the most gorgeous classical piece ever, but it's so sad... somehow it always reminds me of the last sequences of A.I. which are immensely desolated and... mmm, well, I'm not in the best mood right now, I just don't like when mom gets upset with Allan or me for something we couldn't have possibly foreseen, this time it was because of one malfunctioning ATM, she needed some money that can still be taken out tomorrow, but still she decided to freak out about it and at me! :(... but she's out of it by now, and she always does, thankfully. It always takes her sometime to realize she's being unfair... *sigh*
But anyway, back like 5 hours ago something when I was feeling better, I was listening to Nancy Sinatra, These Boots Are Made for Walkin' and Some Velvet Morning, and oh my god! Was she good! Sure, she owed a lot to Lee Hazlewood's incredible productions, but these wouldn't've been the same without her rather tired and druggy voice, that at least in those two songs, fits perfectly. And it's pretty easy for me to see now, why Primal Scream chose Kate Moss to sing in their Velvet Morning cover, she resembles Sinatra so much, both looks and voice.
And, I also did my homework respecting another oldie: Crazy Little Thing Called Love, which I've always lived in my ignorance thinking that it was an Elvis song, when it's actually by Queen, and well, then it must be the greatest tribute song ever, Freddy Mercury totally nailed Elvis' style... Oh, I had no idea! ^_^ But it's great to still be surprised by 25 year old songs...
Ah, I finally watched Finding Nemo yesterday, and while I've always had my reservations towards Pixar ( except for The Incredibles, of course), this one truly moved me and it's definitely their second best film, closely followed by Monsters Inc. I think their works are better when they touch family subjects, because they're masterful at them. The story is just filled with small emotional details that worked perfectly for the character's development. These ones were worth the entire movie! Excellent!
And finally, speaking of exceptional filmmaking, it's great to know that MTV is airing Lynne Ramsay's latest work, and that you can watch it every night! The thing is, this was the nicest surprise, since I would've never expect her to get into the videoclip waters. And it's all worthwhile, this is be the best video of the year, and just like Mark Romanek's work for 99 Problems last year, this one pushes filmmaking forward in favor of a honest and understanding look at society. In Lynne's work: the frustrating life of adolescence on a violent/urban environment. And all this accompanied by the music of one of the most acclaimed albums of the year...
