Cannons continue losing streak with 240-10 loss against Falcons By Kennilworthy Whisp Since the Cannons changed their team motto three years ago from "We shall conquer" to "Let's all just keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best," the team out of Chudley has not gotten any better. Last night, the Cannons played Falmouth, which resulted in one of the worst losses for the team. After only half an hour of play, the team was already down 90-0, and veteran chaser Marina St. Ives managed a quick goal for the Cannons seconds before Falcons' seeker Brian O'Donnell caught the snitch. It appeared that the Cannons' own seeker had not even caught sight of the golden snitch prior to the Falcons' victory. Leonard McDounough, keeper and captain of the Cannons, said that the team is doing all they can. He said, "At this point, it's more about working together and staying strong than winning." The Daily Prophet wishes the Cannons all the best. They certainly need it now, since their next game is against the undefeated Montrose Magpies. 26 September 1975 Post a comment in response: |
