    who's your daddy?
    this is an interesting information that i've just read from CityLife (one of the circulars that fill up our mailbox).


    The Icelandic family name system reflects the first name of the child's father. For example, a man named Jon Stefansson has a son named Jack. His surname will not be Stefansson like his father's, but become Jonsson, literally indicating that Jack is the son of Jon. If Jon has a daughter Karin, she would be given the surname Jonsdottir, which literally means Jon's daughter.
