Well! We are 80% done with the packing. I am sitting at my computer that is perched on a filing cabinet and my keyboard is on my knees! We put our dilapidated computer desk out by the street and someone actually took it!!!! That makes a dresser, chest of drawers, and a mirror that we threw out, and someone apparently named Mr. Fix IT and took them. My apartment is so empty that when the dogs bark the sound bouces off the walls and vibrate my brain into oblivion. And I can't yell at them to shut up because then I fry my eardrums with my own shrillness. Boomerang yelling KILLs, people. Believe me. We now have mattresses on the floor too! Last night we slept in the livingroom and watched Fox News-- Bill O'Reilly to be exact and I said he should be nicknamed Bill O'RilesEmUP! because people get SO PISSED at him on his show. I think it is because he is an interrupter (insert MOO! here) and no one likes to be interrupted on television. Yes, I know, I'm so funny. And punny. I just sent my husband to the Shoppette with a baggie of quarters to buy newspapers so that I can finish up with my everyday dishes, and he said he was going to steal the newspapers because they were full of propaganda. I told him not to because he would go to hell. I told him just steal the FREE newspapers, and buy some only as a last resort. Do you think he'll go to hell for that? So we have 9 more sleeps until we leave, and the packing is pretty much done. Maybe we'll have some time to enjoy the city a little before we leave. I'd like to go to Chinatown and buy some fabulous fake purses and some sparkly shoes. And I'd like to go see Wicked again. It was that good. Now, since I've been so worldly and self centered in the above paragraph, I'd also like to say thank you to all the bloggers out there rounding up donations for the Tsunami victims and their familes. You guys are amazing. I will be making my donation as well, but if you are the praying kind (as I am) don't forget to lift these people up. Miracles can happen as quickly as tragedies. Don't forget our servicemen and women over there helping out too. It must be devastating to SEE that, but so rewarding at the same time, to know that you are helping to preserve life for these people. My prayer pledge is this: Everytime I take a drink of water, I will thank God that I have it and pray for those who don't. The same with bathing and flushing the toilet. And doing laundry (now, you know this is major, because to be grateful to be doing laundry? is something that DOES NOT HAPPEN IN THIS HOUSE!). Wanna join me? Post a comment in response: |
