Lappy is back!
Yesterday the plan was to go to the pool, and then wash my car, hoping to get sun most of the day. When I went outside to see if it was pool weather AND there was that box that had given me so much trouble on Monday. They got my laptop on Wednesday and I got it back on Saturday so that's freakin' awesome! I didn't make it to the pool cause I was working on reloading stuff and all that good junk. My ride did get washed and vacuumed though, so that was good. Pete came over and fixed my internet and some other stuff and we had lunch at Taco Casa, which was very good. Then I spent the rest of the afternoon, reaquiring my music. I can't even tell you how much I love having my music back. Rachel has been talking about Ruby Tuesdays forever and then they were talking about going on Tuesday after work and going bowling. I, unfortunately, have driving school Tuesday night. So sadly I will miss the weekly dinners, but I might still get to go bowling with the other counselors. Anyway, I have been craving Ruby Tuesdays since Rachel started talking about it, and I finally felt like going so I went there for dinner. It was great, and I had my first medium rare steak...and a blondie...YUM!
Today I woke up and went to Calvary, eh. I have to find a church I like up here, maybe Rach and I will go to PC's church soon and see how it is. After church I was in a cooking mode since I have my lappy and winamp back. I fried some prok chops, made a corn casserole and a cake. It turned out alright, but the frosting didn't set properly...it tasted good though, I think. Pete came over to eat lunch and then decided to make me run. Now I have been running during the week and finally got up to 3 days in a row last week, but I'd taken Friday and Saturday off. I've been running either early in the morning or late in the evening so it's cooler. The weather when he decided we should run was 89, feeling like 98...GREAT. I told him I would die cause I've only been running 2 miles, without hills, and sun. *Sigh* I went anyway. We drove to his house so I could run back here and then he could run back. There's this lovely bridge in between our houses, and this really great stair case that you have to run up to get to the bridge from his house. Let's recap, I've been running on straightaways, no hills. But no, this wasn't a hill, just stairs according to Pete, blah. The breeze on the bridge about got me, and around half of the way across it I knew I wasn't going to make it all the way back to the house. I did make it across the bridge and down to 8th street, as soon as we turned that corner...the breeze stopped and the heat was just insane. I am not good at keeping a steady pace because I like to run faster when my legs start hurting so they'll just go numb, but Pete made me stay on pace and I did make it back to my house. I just about stopped when we got down 8th street a bit, but then I would never have heard the end of it from him for stopping that close to the house...so I didn't My radio was telling me to though, cause it was playing, relax don't do it. NOT what I needed in my head at that point. I've been wanting something other than my radio to run with though, so I also broke down at got an iriver tonight.
Now I just have to wake up to stick with the running in the morning.
