    Coffee (with cream & sugar)
Yes, I do like my coffee with cream and sugar, but that does not mean that I do not like coffee! If I have no sugar, I add twice as much cream. If I have no creamer, I usually drink it black, as I do not like sweet coffee without cream. But the main thing is the coffee. Today (and yesterday) I faced an interesting dilemma. My non-dairy creamer was discovered to contain soy. I've been allergic to soy for some time, but recently my reactions have become more frequent and more severe. When I hit my inhaler, it takes longer to open me up. So, no more soy for me. But I really like that cream, too. So I looked into the refridgerator and what do I find? Cream & sugar! In a can! Of course! Reddi-whip is cream & sugar! So I gave my coffee a squirt and it was just as tasty as any I've ever had! Problem solved!

Coffee, although to my detriment, is one of my most beloved pleasures! It has been argued that I must like it more than sex, but that does not make it so. In that case, I would have to say I also like urinating or blinking my eyes more than sex because I can go longer without sex! Ridiculous! Anyway, back to the coffee... I absolutely love Costa Rican coffee! Now I'll tell you just how I like it: in a 12 cup automatic drip coffeemaker, I use three HEAPING tablespoons of coffee. It's just right, not too weak, not too strong and I've taught everyone else in this house how the coffee is to be made. And it was so. Now I am not a coffee tyrant, it just matters more to me than anyone else how that coffee gets made! They will all tell you it's true. Now my very favorite coffee is Costa Rican Peaberry from Gevalia. Make it just as I said. It's very good! But there is one very important feature of this Peaberry stuff: if you haven't cooked it (left it sitting on the hot burner for a couple of hours) it can be microwaved without turning bitter! When I brew a pot, as soon as it's finished, I turn off the burner and after I've had my first cup, the rest are microwaved. I've drank coffee up to twelve hours after making it and it was still good! Peaberry can't be beaten

Just a word of caution: excessive coffee consumption may be linked to liver cancer (remember St. Elsewhere?), and it's associated with osteoporosis (I've got that), and heart rhythm abnormalities (Yeah, I've got that too). I've cut back my coffee consumption a lot and if I reach my goal of two cups a day by my bday, I won't have to go for professional help! Wish me luck!
