And More Embroidery
Long ago, I was expecting a visit from my mother-in-law, who was very critical of me. I went to my doctor and asked him for something for anxiety as she was staying a week! He asked if I knew how to embroider. What an odd question! I told him yes and he said, "Buy a piece of fabric and a counted cross-stitch pattern. Each time she does something that bothers you, pick it up and work on it! I told Mama's sister-in-law (who was equally criticized) about my plan. It worked! I felt much more relaxed! When Mama returned home she visited her sister-in-law to tell her about the visit. She couldn't wait to call me and tell me what Mama had said: "All that girl ever does is sit around and stitch!" We both had a good laugh!
