Sorry....
I haven't updated every day as I said I would. For some reason, my computer has not been wanting to pull up the Blurty page lately...and when it does pull up, it runs so slow that I just don't have the patience to sit here and wait on it.
Ah well...so what has been happening in my world the last couple of days? let's see....Sunday, Wren and Jacinda came by. We spent some time chatting and watching movies. Jacinda had me run the Wicker Man in the VCR since Wren had never seen it before. I think he enjoyed it and I damn sure know that he understood it a lot more than their room mate did when her, Jacinda and I watched it at their house a couple of months ago...lol. We also watched a video about Earth Day. It was an old tape from the early 90's, with Bette Midler as Mother Earth. It also had Robin Williams, Martin Short, Dustin Hoffman and a host of other stars in it...it was funny, holey, silly and cute. But what the hell, it cost me a dollar for the tape and it was well worth it.
Monday was Weight Watchers as always, and I maintained. No loss, but then again, no gain. Just means I need to work out more this week. After Weight Watchers, Jacinda and Wren surprised me by taking me out to dinner. Just as soon as I get a little money put aside, and pay for the Intensive, I will need to make sure to take them out...I never have gotten the chance to take then out to celebrate Jacinda's new job, and geez...she's been working there for about 2 months now...lol. Jacinda got her car back yesterday. Poor Eric..he still has some issues, although the mechanic thinks that it is just a case of bad gas...he sat for so long and water and who knows what all else might have gotten into the gas. Hopefully, once they finally get it ran down to empty and put decent gas in it and change the fuel filter, Eric will run properly. I hate to think what will happen otherwise, Jacinda is so attached to that car. And while my first thought, I must admit, was...is it worth sinking all this money into?, I can honestly understand why she feels that Eric is worth it. Look at me with Hel....right now Hel has become little more than a four wheeled storage shed, rusting away in the driveway...but let me tell you, if I had the money to sink the thousand or more dollars into her to get a new front end, and a new moter and anything else she needed, you can be damned sure I would do it without a second thought. Is Hel worth the money? To most people, no...but to me, damn skippy she is. There have been times when that old beat up van was the best friend I had. So I can totally understand and sympathise with Jacinda, and I pray for her sake that Eric will be just fine once they get the bad gasoline ran out of him.
And speaking of vehicles, I need to get the little blue girl into the dealership for a diagnostic. Nothing wrong with her, that I know of, but my dad always took her in for a "well baby" check up every year. His logic was that if something was about to go bad, it was best to find out as soon as possible and fix it before things got too bad and ended up costing more. Makes sense to me.
Ah well...off to work out and find something to do for the day. :)
