Can I do anything to stop my journal from ending up on search engines?

Once your journal is listed in a search engine you generally will need to write to them to have it removed from their listings.

You can make it tougher to be entered. Search sites often use robots to scan a location. If you do not want your personal journal to be found in this way go to:

  http://www.blurty.com/editinfo.bml

Find the option that says:

Block Robots/Spiders from Indexing your journal

If you check this option, Blurty's robots.txt option will be updated so search engines are told to not index your journal contents.

Be sure to save the changes you have made.
