This community seems about dead but I'm willing to try anything. I'm 15 and I've been playing the violin for almost 7 years. I made my high school's Chamber Orchestra as a freshman and I've been working really hard. I was hoping that someone here might know where I could find the sheet music for the song "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve. It's an amazing song and has a really awesome violin part which I think would be fun to play. So please tell me if you have any thoughts or clues! Thanks so much. -Rae |

| I'm a trombonist, I've been playing for about 9 years or so. I love going with jazz, and I really like orchestral. My favorite jazz is the Duke, orchestral, Dvorak and Stravinsky, New World Symphony and Rite Of Spring are probabaly my two favorite symphonies. Hello! I'm a competitive violinist, and I've learned for 7-8 years. To improve my future, I am to take viola lessons as well. I used to play the piano for 9 years, but quit to spend more time on academics, which I am also competitive in. I am extremely interested in the the harp, but due to it's weight, huge size, and LARGE amount of money involved (not just for the harp), I'm not allowed :( Anyway, I'm glad to have found this community! -Shiori |

My violin teacher/orchestra conductor recently sent me the scores and my own music for the spring concert season. He also recently made me concertmaster which is why I got all of this early (go me!). Well, he's nuts, because this is what he's picked out for us: - Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" - Bach's "Brandenburg Concerto #5" - Shostakovich's "Galop" - Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee" - Brahms's "Hungarian Dance #5" - Liszt's "Hungarian Rhapsody #2" ...in addition to which we're doing The Nutcracker at Christmastime. Hey, maybe I can make the buzzy bee noise from the Korsakov piece, and maybe I am concertmaster, but that doesn't mean I can play this stuff!! This guy is trying to kill me. ;) |

Ok, I am sort of just on a rant here. Blah. Just feel like talking. I am gonna list like all my favourite instruments, etc. *hees* Enjoy^^ Favourite Instruments Clarinet: Because it's just so interesting, I play it, and it is fairly easy. I can get a really foresty-type sound. As if it's from the deep woods. Heehee. Bassoon: Ok, I don't play bassoon, but my username is bassoon_chiq. The reason for this is that I love the bassoon so much. I love the sound! When I first heard it, I totally fell in love with it. It's so...awesome! Soprano Sax: I'm not much for Kenny Gee, but I totally love the Soprano. I prefere it over all the other sax's, plus it's like golden clarinet. o.O Oboe: Okay, well, oboes don't get enough support. But I LOVE them. One of my favourites, but you see, I held one, and it was way different than the clarinet. So there's no way I'd ever play it. Favourite Bands/Composers Well, this varies, you see. As I like so many pieces. Hmm... The Beatles Wings John Williams Danny Elfman Yeah, cause I love scores to movies, especially Spider-Man, Catch Me If You Can, Men In Black, etc. I love adventurous music over Beethoven. Yeah well... Although, there are some days when I just want to listen to Bach, so, it's weird...o.O --- Yes, so, I am such a commited person when it comes to music. I always practise, unlike some people I know. But anyways, that's about all I wanted to say. |

Hi everyone!!! I'm a viola player, and I've been playing for more than a year now. As it turns out there is a concert tomorrow, and I can't wait to play!!! It will be very spiffy. We have only 3 songs, and one of the other grades gets to play the Harry Potter theme. Lucky them.........grrrrrrrrrrr. I also play the recorder and piano. Yeah......well, I'm done now. Oh, and btw, these are the songs that we have to play for the concert: Skye Dance Put Me In A Box (I know, the title is crappy, but the song is great!!!) Loch Lomand That's all for now. TTYL!!! |

You know, *none* of these communities get enough love around here... I joined this one a while ago but lost track of Blurty. But I'm back. Anyway, my name is Amanda and I'm a band addict. This year I'm strictly on the clarinet, but next year I will be playing clarinet only in Wind Ensemble (which is brand-new next year). I'm going to be marching with the bass clarinet and playing it in concert band, and am getting ready to play the tenor sax in jazz ensemble. My baby is my clarinet -- it's a wooden Selmer Signet 100 and I love it. I also play E-flat clarinet, and I play A clarinet when we do orchestral things. Well, that's about it. Oh, and do me a favor -- if you play the clarinet or know someone who does here on Blurty, send them over to the Clarinet Players community at http://www.blurty.com/~clarinet because I and one other person are the only members.
