"I'm not going to let you fall." What else could he had said? Fine, I'll let you go. I'll let you fall and keep on falling even though I promised I would never let anyone fall again. Could he had said that?
"You don't understand. I never want you to feel like you're falling and I have to fall. Let me go."
"I will not let you go." he said, a bit too harshly, but he couldn't soften all the anger, pain, and sadness in his voice. "Don't make me."
"You have to." she answered in a pleading voice. "Someday, you will let me go. I don't know if it will be against your will or not, but you will."
"I am never letting you go. If I have to be like this my entire life with one hand over yours, I will. I refuse to let you fall anymore." he tightened his grip around her petite hands and frowned. "I am sorry that I couldn't catch you before but I want to try."
"You have to let me fall before you can try to catch me." she glanced down and smiled. "Just let me fall."
