You all have no fucking idea how much July 29, 2003 meant to me.
First…. Right when I got there, afi JUST started playing Miserea Cantare. I fuckin’ RAN to the stage. I crowd surfed. Yay.
I was on the other side of the pit when I saw someone that I had met at the NorVa on May 21st, at the first AFI show I’d ever been to. His name is Shawn (Sean? Oh well, lol.) I was like "Hey! I saw you at the…" and before I even finished my sentence, he looked all surprised and gave me a hug lol. He’s a really nice guy. And when he was at the NorVa, he was with Jeff (Geoff? Same same, haha.) and I recognized him too. When AFI was over, Shawn said "Look who I found." When he saw Jeff. Jeff is a very, very nice guy, like Shawn. I met Shawn’s girlfriend Eve who is very nice. Oh, my God… She’s really pretty. *jealousy* lol. Since I wasn’t with Patti all day, I stayed with Shawn, Eve, and Jeff. Jeff kept telling me that I looked and acted so much older…? lol, I don’t know if that’s really true or not but oh, well. I’m glad that they didn’t mind me tagging along, because they were cool. And I wanted to stay with someone I knew.
After AFI went off the stage I saw Davey walk to the trailers (not a lot of people did) and I screamed "DAVEY!" and he turned around, smiled, and waved back. It was amazing, even though I didn’t get to talk to him. That was enough for me, lol. I guess a couple of days ago, he was bitten by a spider so he’s been kind of sick. So after the show, he also went to the hospital. I really do hope he’ll be ok, though. I’m sure he will. It just amazes me so much that even though he was sick. He managed to put on such an amazing show. Of course it wouldn’t have been anything if it weren’t for Adam, Jade, and Hunter. That’s fucking devotion though. I mean…. Being sick, and no matter what the circumstances, he STILL played. He payed back all the REAL fans what they deserved for sticking with them for so long. They deserve it all the way though.
A while later, we were sitting on the grass and the fences to where the tour busses and trailers and stuff were. We saw Adam walk by with a girl. I was the one who noticed. I got up and ran and screamed Adam, lol. I’m such a dork. I talked to him and I said "Before you say anything, I just really need you to know… I had everything planned out in case I met you guys…. But I forgot. But I just really want you to know how much I really appreciate your music. I just think you all are such beautiful people and I have so much respect for you as a person and a musician. I really, really, really need you to know how much I DO appreciate it. And I don’t know if you could get any better." And he said "Thanks for saying all those nice things, that really does mean a lot to me." I asked how Davey was (this was a while after the AFI show), and he said Davey was doing a lot better. I asked him if he could still tell him to get better, lol. It was so weird though… because there were maybe ten people there all trying to talk to him…. but he didn’t care. He actually listened to ME. And I really hope that what I said really did "mean a lot" to him. I noticed that he had a diamond in his tooth… Because he loves pirates. He IS a pirate ya know. ;) I saw his (maybe?) girlfriend. If it WAS his girlfriend, she was insanely gorgeous. Really, though.
We (Shawn, Jeff, Eve and I) went to get food. We were coming back and someone said Hunter was at the merch stand. We RAN! lol, insanely fast. He was gone by the time we got there, but Jade and Adam were there. I got Jade to sign something for me. And I said hi to Adam again, and he smiled. =D Sarah got a picture of Jade and I. I kissed Jade on the cheek. God, I am so lucky. I couldn’t have asked for a better time. It was so amazing meeting them. Even if it wasn’t Davey or Hunter, just the fact that Adam LISTENED meant so much to me. I’m glad that at least one of them knows how much the music means to me. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Adam is just… he's just so nice. Like everyone else was swarming around him and asking for shit. And I had everything that I wanted to say planned out..... and I told him and he actually cared. And he was like "That really did mean a lot to me, and thanks a lot for telling me. Those are the kinds of fans I want to do what I do for" I couldn’t have been any happier.
We walked to Rancid, and it was an… OK show. =\ I thought it was still going to be better. I was satisfied though. I got to kiss Tim Armstrong on the cheek, and I got a hug from him. He’s very nice.
The night same to an end. And I was insanely happy. I couldn’t complain about a single thing (except for the shitty cover simple Plan did of Bad Religions’ "American Jesus"). I got screen names, and hopefully I’ll be talking to Shawn, Jeff, and Eve soon. I really do like them, they’re very cool people.
God…. It was just amazing. Simple as that….
