I'm sure you all have, but I'll mention it anyway just to get some discussion going. "The Awakening"? I thought it was amazing. Giovane, have you read it, yet? You said you were interested last time we talked. I LOVE THAT BOOK, although, nothing compares to "Cunt", "The Awakening" truely changed the face of opinion regarding female sexuality in the late 1800s. Edna Pontillier is my hero....*sigh*.

I just stumbled upon this community, and may I say that as a student studying fiction writing and literature, I am ecstatic to have found you.
Jack Kerouac, one of my personal favorites, once explained, "When the question is asked, 'Are writers made or born?' one should first ask, 'Do you mean writers with talent, or writers with originality?' Because anybody can write, but not everybody invents new forms of writing."
I was curious about what authors you all think fit Kerouac's description of a person who is "born to write." In addition to personal preferences, what authors do you think changed the appearance of modern literature?

Has anyone read the "feminist" book CUNT by Inga Muscio? I read it and I think it is absolutely amazing. Every woman should read it, and even men. But, what do you all think?
