Welcome!

Welcome to the Blurty Community Center. Here is where members of Blurty kick back and participate in a little more in depth "interaction". Blurty isn't only a safe keep for your personal journal; it's a place where people can meet and interact, share common ideas and interests, and overall just have a good time. We try to do more for our users, so here are some extra features to keep you informed and in touch.

What is a Community?

A community in the sense of Blurty is basically a journal administrated by an existing member of Blurty for the purpose of gathering people who are interested in some mutual theme. This is a completely free service, and is available to all members, past, present and future. Examples of fine communities include, but are not limited to : Nihongo - Learn Japanese, Emo Sucks, Blurty Layouts/Templates, and many many more.

How do I make my own Community?

To create a community, you need to meet two requirements. One, you must be a member of Blurty. Second, for the community you want to create, you need a separate account pre-made before you fill out the actual create community form. All you are doing upon creating a journal is converting an existing journal into a new community. See the Communities F.A.Q. if you need more information on how to administrate and maintain a community.

Where do I find one?

Need a quick way to find a community? The directory now hosts communities in a separate search list, and if you search by interest, communities will appear on the top of your search results page if they match your interest key-word. Also, the server maintains a list of all the communities that have been made, and updates this page at various times of the day, so it never runs down due to frequent search hits.

How do I join an existing Community?

Once you find a community that you want to be a part of, joining up is easy. Most communities have info on joining on the front page of the community. If the one that interests you does not, then you can usually find out how to join by going to the User Info page for that community. The URL would look like this:

http://www.blurty.com/userinfo.bml?user=community_name_here

Just type the name of the community where it says "community_name_here" and read the page for membership info. There are some communities that are private. For information on private communities, you must contact the person who runs the community directly. Again, please see the Communities F.A.Q. for more specific information.
